DECC & CLG: Big energy announcement tomorrow
Domestic Energy Assessors may need to upgrade their qualifications to partake in a major initiative expected to be announced tomorrow in a joint statement by the CLG and DECC. Both departments are set to declare a massive program of works to improve the energy efficiency (and reduce carbon emissions) of existing homes, according to The Guardian. But my digging suggests that the two new qualifications currently undergoing refinement - that of Housing Energy Adviser and Community Energy Adviser - may be where it's at for DEAs wishing to find more work.

Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors Chairman Ignores Vote
It was all a bad dream! Mr Gillespie, chairman of Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors, has now claimed he had already rejected proposals to become a £40 EPC panel, meaning the poll members were asked to participate in (which came out in favour) was never going to count for anything, apparently! Unfortunately, credibility isn't so easy to dismiss.

NHER: Bad Practice Undermining Accreditation Framework
NHER Accreditation Scheme, in its first annual report since becomming CLG-approved in 2006, reports on its performance up to September 2008. David Cameron has now launched the Tories' Low-carbon economy green policy paper, and - as far as Energy Performance Certificates are concerned - it's quite frankly confused and in some parts, ambiguous.
