New qualification for DEAs

Submitted by: MikeC (Admin) on 05-Feb-09 08:49:11 PM

Asset Skills, on behalf of the CLG, is seeking feedback on the new NOS (National Occupational Standards) for the soon-to-be-launched Community Energy Adviser and Housing Energy Adviser qualifications.

  • Housing Energy Adviser who will provide sophisticated behavioural advice on ways of improving energy efficiency and energy saving products to individual householders and
  • Community Energy Adviser who will provide advice to the wider community on energy reduction and sustainability, and renewable energy technologies.

Speaking with Asset Skills today, it seems there is a tight deadline for this one - the end of February, apparently!

So if you want to have your say - and you should - you can register on their purpose-built forum.

Download the draft NOS for Community Energy Adviser / Housing Energy Adviser (.doc - Word document).

Happy Birthday HIPs

Sunday, August, 1st, 2010 at 12:00am
Description: On this day in 2007, Energy Performance Certificates became a mandatory requirement on 4 bed homes and larger marketed for sale. This was after a controversial delay because of insufficient numbers of Domestic Energy Assessors. Four months later and there were twice the number required... and still growing.

The calendar for these events is unavailable. Probably because there are no events to report. If you have a compliant CPD event, let me know through the contact page.
