Podcast

In this podcast, I'm joined by Alex Rodgers, Head of Operations for Christopher Rodgers (Home & Energy) Ltd who has bravely volunteered to answer some of the questions preying on the minds of lots of Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs), who are confused by the plethora of options available for both sourcing work, and the fees involved for receiving it.

Listen: Christopher Rodgers Interview (MP3, approx 50 mins)

Also now available at Google Video here (with exciting graphic!).

Show Notes

Guide to self-employment for Domestic Energy Assessors - Useful information and candid advice from Christopher Rodgers himself, who - don't forget - built his company as a self-employed person. Recommended read.

Alex is recruiting! Get in touch either via their site, or email Alex directly.

I'll add more show notes later (I'll have to re-listen!).

Apologies

Oh yeah, I meant to give a shout-out to Jim Gillespie - a valued contributor to previous podcasts - and wish him a speedy recovery from his untimely Hospital visit last week. Alas (and all that!), I'll have to do it here instead: Get well soon Jim, and forgive me (you know how it is - you never get to say everything you wanted to!).

And another apology! For the same reasons as above, I failed to credit both Neil Kurz and "Loppy", for some of the questions used on the show - A million apologies!

Thanks and praise

Many, many thanks to Christopher Rodgers (Home & Energy) Ltd, and to Alex for coming forward and displaying both foresight and intiative in reaching out to the Domestic Energy Assessor community in what, I suppose, many might regard as a risky thing to do, given the way some feel currently.

It is to their credit that the bar has been set as an employer in this new industry, and I hope, at least that much is taken away from this podcast, however you still may feel, and whatever your circumstances may be..

I'm employed by Chris Rodgers Home & Energy along with many others, I have just listened to the interview and I'd advise you to re-interview Alex Rodgers. They employed people on full time contracts £22k plus, ** They have not stood by their contracts "we've got to change it to zero rated contract pay per job, thats if they bother giving you any work ** I few of my collegues have had not work or contact with Chirs Rodgers since Sept 07 !!!
After joining the company your lucky to get any assessments to do.they are not in contact with their employees they avoid speaking to you some of us are in postions of loosing homes They don't care.
