Dissecting The HIP Industry

Submitted by: MikeC (Admin) on 02-Oct-07 08:56:25 PM

Neil Kurz (Director of NRG Experts) is the last returning guest to mark the end of season one. In contrast to Neil's last appearances on the podcast, this time he speaks as Director of NRG Experts and shares with us details of their new service for DEAs: The provision of Home Information Packs to clients of DEAs.

In addition, Neil gives his take on the current market for providing the HIP direct to clients as well as some tips on what impresses him when a DEA approaches him for work (ie... from him as an Estate Agent).

Neil talks about NRG Experts' full HIP offering which is, in brief: HIPs to DEAs cost £295 and they can also offer a deferred payment package for those that wish to market that service to their local clients.

Many thanks to Neil and those who contributed questions.

Show-Notes

Some of your questions asked:

Anon writes:
"Why did Neil used to have a picture of a muscley guy dressed in lycra, riding a bike as his avatar, when this is far-removed from what I have seen of him in the flesh?!"

Alex Bent asked:
"As an Estate Agent he (Neil) has more than likely had DEAs contacting his agency in order to sell their services, not realising he also runs NRG Experts. What things about these DEAs have impressed him and what hasn't. In other words if he was just a "normal" Estate Agent (meant in the nicest way) what would get his business. Would he be happy with cold calling DEAs wandering in off the street or would he prefer to be written to etc.

I'm only asking this as my attempts at marketing to Estate Agents is getting nowhere and I'm curious to know where I could be going wrong if at all."

Dear Mike
Firstly, I would like to say how much I enjoyed your Radio 4 series 'The Shuttleworths'.
Please can you tell me, was Neil Kurtz the chap who played Roger Dervish in the popular ITV series 'Outside Edge'? Also can you tell me if there is anything of interest in this podcast. Sadly, i am unable to listen to it myself, having previously listened to 2 of your earlier podcasts and punishing my foolishness by sticking knitting needles in my ears.
