Calls to end First Day Marketing on April 1st 2008

Submitted by: MikeC (Admin) on 12-Feb-08 05:49:41 PM

In the absence of any support from DEA and HIP industry representatives, plucky DEA, Charlotte Lawrance, has decided to step up to the plate instead.

She has created a petition on the Downing Street website calling for the Govt to not only end First Day Marketing (FDM) of HIPs, but to bring forward the date of its demise to April 2008.

Many 1000s' of people have remortgaged their homes, took loans and worked very hard to train as a DEA and Home Inspector.

These hardworking people who wanted to work in a new career for a rewarding wage have been penalised enough by the withdrawal of mandatory HCRs'. There are now more than enough DEAs' to bring forward the end of first day marketing to April 2008 instead of leaving it till the 31st of May 2008. So show your support for these hardworking DEAs and sign today.

Ceasing first day marketing will not cause any unnecessary delays to homeowners.

Petition to: bring forward the end of First Day Marketing of residential property to the 1st of April 2008.

I'm not sure the wording of the petition will be understood by industry outsiders, nevertheless, it clearly demonstrates that DEAs are concerned that the current FDM transitionary arrangements are an imposition to their livelihoods.

Charlotte that is without doubt the most self centered rubbish i have encountered in relation to EPCs so far. Whilst you are bleating about your own future earnings you are petitioning to bring forward a piece of heavily flawed clandestine legislation at the expense of the rest of the country. Charlotte listen...the HIPs are not designed to speed up the house buying and selling process...they are their for a completely seperate Government conceived purpose. I understand you would like to pursue your career and fill up your bank account but research this properly and wait for a year and then tell me if you feel the same. I dont care that DEAs are not going to earn all the money they thought they could because its their own stupid fault for trusting this Government. For christs sake they lied to the whole world about Weapons of Mass Destruction so they could help invade Iraq. You dont honestly think on that basis that they care when and how much ,money their trusty DEAs are earning do you? Charlotte guess what? you are not appreciated by the Law Society, The NAEA, The RICS, Estate Agents and any other poor so and so who have just spent £350 on something that no one wants to see.
