Chatting about IHI and the DCLG meeting

Submitted by: MikeC (Admin) on 23-Jul-07 02:57:40 PM

Linda Gray attended a meeting with the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) last week (18th July 2007). So I got her on to the podcast to elaborate on what came out of the meeting, and also to share her personal reasons for becoming a Trustee for The Institute of Home Inspection (IHI).

She has put in serious hard-graft for many months on behalf of both Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) and Home Inspectors (HI) alike, and there's still no sign of stopping her yet!

When she accepted her new role at the IHI, she personally emailed around 1,500 DEAs to keep them up-to-speed... and that, even after I had recommended software to do the job for her in one hit!

What's more, she has done all this campaigning without any financial recompense, and continues to do so.

Her current mission is to furnish the Govt with DEA/HI numbers willing to cover the regions that could threaten the successful roll-out of HIPs, should there be insufficient manpower.

Catch the full details on the podcast page: Linda Gray - Institute of Home Inspection.

Thanks to Linda for taking the time to keep everyone informed... A true inspiration!

Happy Birthday HIPs

Sunday, August, 1st, 2010 at 12:00am
Description: On this day in 2007, Energy Performance Certificates became a mandatory requirement on 4 bed homes and larger marketed for sale. This was after a controversial delay because of insufficient numbers of Domestic Energy Assessors. Four months later and there were twice the number required... and still growing.

The calendar for these events is unavailable. Probably because there are no events to report. If you have a compliant CPD event, let me know through the contact page.
