Accreditation Schemes vs Trade Bodies and Institutes

By MikeC (Admin) on 14-Jul-09 15:44. Remarks (0)

Who do you think should represent Domestic Energy Assessors: your accreditation scheme or one of the numerous trade bodies or institutes? A poll so far puts the accred schemes up there with the so-called institutes!

Hartlepool Mayor Jim Gillespie

By MikeC (Admin) on 14-Apr-09 12:37. Remarks (2)

Jim Gillespie is running for Mayor of Hartlepool on June 4th 2009. So who will run the Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors (IDEA)?

Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors Chairman Ignores Vote

By MikeC (Admin) on 27-Jan-09 18:04. Remarks (0)

It was all a bad dream! Mr Gillespie, chairman of Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors, has now claimed he had already rejected proposals to become a £40 EPC panel, meaning the poll members were asked to participate in (which came out in favour) was never going to count for anything, apparently! Unfortunately, credibility isn't so easy to dismiss.

IDEA Chairman Forced to Defend £40 EPC Panel Setup

By MikeC (Admin) on 22-Jan-09 19:57. Remarks (2)

The Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors' chairman divides industry once again as he moves to lock fees at £40 for his members - and, some fear, industry too. As George W Bush slides into the shadows, are you with, or against his protege?

Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors: Has it turned a corner?

By MikeC (Admin) on 21-Dec-08 14:49. Remarks (7)

The Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors has seemingly identified the real vision which speaks to all Domestic Energy Assessors, and society as a whole. Could this finally signal a turning point? Does it have the balls to follow-through?

Institutes and Associations: Next!

By MikeC (Admin) on 13-Jul-08 20:22. Remarks (5)

Domestic Energy Assessors are excited. AHIPP, IDEA, IHI, IPPA and NARHI had better watch out, another entity looks set to emerge. But what's the point? Dividing never unites, does it? And are DEAs expecting too much, too soon? Analysing the list of proposed policies.

IDEA and ECMK Deal Closes Doors for Institute

By MikeC (Admin) on 19-Apr-08 17:19. Remarks (8)

The Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors (IDEA) has significantly weakened the collective voice of its members as accreditation schemes react to deal with ECMK. Also, claims the Steering Group acted without powers to sign deal.

That Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors' Post

By MikeC (Admin) on 14-Mar-08 17:24. Remarks (4)

DEAs piled into the Farewell to the IDEA blog post this week, including the Chief Exec who made some sweeping comments against dissenters and banned himself from this site! So what did we learn and who can resurrect the IDEA, if at all. Oh, and who owns/controls the Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors really?

Farewell to the Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors

By MikeC (Admin) on 02-Mar-08 22:25. Remarks (20)

The Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors (IDEA) is changing - possibly outside of its remit. Is the IDEA becoming a shopfront for other businesses? Or is it truly representing its members interests? How is it being funded and what has it done for the greater good?

First Day Marketing: Hello?

By MikeC (Admin) on 01-Feb-08 15:07. Remarks (4)

DEAs were concerned when the Drop Dead Date of HIPs was pushed back to June 1st 08, yet have remained silent in spite of campaign to abolish it permanently!
