D rating most popular

Thanks to Lib Dem Shadow Housing Minister, Sarah Teather, who asked, "How many domestic energy performance certificates have been registered on the central database for properties in each rating band", Iain Wright, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the DCLG, yesterday published a breakdown of the numbers in his written reply.

Figures up to October 31st 2008:

RatingNumber lodged
A 228
B 50,210
C 315,623
D 526,613
E 352,354
F 117,916
G 33,035
Total 1,395,979

Since 4th September 2008 (the last figure I have = 1,113,626), 282,353 EPCs have been produced in just a little under two months.

More worrying for the Government, though: how to shift the 1,029,918 homes rated D and below, to C or above.
